Bob Allen, a member of the Kendall County Party, won the race for Kendall County treasurer in the Nov. 3 general election. The result marks the first electoral victory for the independent group, which was established in 2002.

Unofficial results show that Allen received 25,026 votes. Jill Ferko, the incumbent Republican treasurer, received 22,487 votes. The count includes 100% of precincts in the county.

Todd Milliron, chairman of the Kendall County Party, described the outcome as a monumental election for the organization. Milliron noted that the party operates solely within Kendall County and focuses on local issues. He said the group hopes to field more candidates in future elections.

Allen is a Yorkville resident with prior public service experience. He has served on the Yorkville City Council and as city treasurer. He also served on the Yorkville Library Board.

Allen will assume the duties of county treasurer next month. He stated that he intends to continue the quality of service provided to citizens, including timely distribution of tax bills. Allen said he will comply with federal regulations, state statutes, and guidance from the Kendall County Board.

Allen emphasized that his role is to serve the public rather than advance personal agendas. He said voters selected an independent third party to watch over the funds. He described the position as neutral and expressed appreciation for the support he received.
