The Wilmington Public Library District is organizing a $10 bus excursion to Aurora for 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 17. The fare covers round-trip transportation on a school bus, with a scheduled return time of approximately 5:30 p.m.
The itinerary begins with a stop at the Christkindlmarket in downtown Aurora. This traditional German-inspired Christmas market features festive decorations, holiday gifts, specialty foods, and seasonal treats. Participants will have approximately 90 minutes to browse the vendors and explore the area.
Following the market visit, the group will travel to the Chicago Premium Outlets. The library has allotted approximately three hours for this portion of the trip, allowing travelers to shop, dine, and view seasonal displays. The outlet center houses a variety of stores intended for gift shopping or casual browsing.
Library officials stated that the outing aims to provide an affordable way for community members to celebrate the season. The trip eliminates the need for participants to drive or secure parking at busy holiday destinations. The library noted that registration is filling quickly.
Residents interested in attending should stop by the Wilmington Public Library District to reserve a seat. The event is scheduled for December 17, with departure from the library at 10 a.m. sharp.
