Trent Stork has brought his reimagined version of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” to the Paramount Theatre in downtown Aurora. The production opens on Nov. 11 and runs through Jan. 3, 2027. Stork, who won two Jeff Awards for directing “Come From Away” and “Kinky Boots” at the venue, adapted the script specifically for this stage. His version includes live music, dance numbers, and a focus on redemption and humor.
The story follows Ebenezer Scrooge, a lonely miser who is visited by three ghosts on Christmas Eve. They guide him through his past, present, and future, prompting a transformation in his character. Audiences will encounter the famous literary figures in a setting designed to evoke hope and holiday cheer. A two-story Christmas tree in the Paramount’s Grand Gallery provides a backdrop for photos before and after the show.
Showtimes include Wednesday performances at 1:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday shows begin at 7 p.m. Saturday matinees start at 2 p.m., with evening shows at 7 p.m. Sunday performances occur at 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. There is no matinee on the opening day, Wednesday, Nov. 11. The theatre will be closed on Thanksgiving, Thursday, Nov. 26, and Christmas, Friday, Dec. 25. An added holiday matinee is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 27, at 2 p.m.
