The Seattle Mariners exercised a $9 million club option on right-hander Andres Munoz on Thursday, keeping the pitcher on the roster for another season.

The move prevented the 27-year-old veteran from entering free agency. Munoz signed a four-year, $7.5 million contract in December 2021 that included three club options. He earned $7 million under the first option this season. His 4.24 earned run average was the highest of his career. He recorded 28 saves in 38 opportunities, struck out 89 batters in 57 one-third innings, and went 5-6 in the regular season. He was an All-Star selection in 2024 and 2025.

Seattle also declined a $9 million option on Dominican outfielder Victor Robles. Robles becomes a free agent after receiving a $500,000 buyout payment. This concludes his two-year, $9.75 million contract. The 29-year-old hit .256 with nine runs batted in and 10 stolen bases in 65 games. He missed time from April 6 to May 22 with a right pectoral strain. His 2025 season was limited to 32 games by a left shoulder dislocation.

The team also rejected a $6.075 million option on right-hander Bryce Miller. Miller receives a $15,000 buyout payment. His one-year contract guaranteed $2.4525 million. He remains under club control and is eligible for salary arbitration. The 28-year-old posted a 4-10 record with a 4.17 earned run average in 21 starts and one relief appearance. He did not make his season debut until May 13 due to a left oblique strain.

Four other players became free agents on Thursday. They are outfielders Randy Arozarena and Taylor Ward, shortstop J.P. Crawford, and left-hander Hoby Milner.

Seattle holds a $10 million option for the 2028 season. That figure increases by $250,000 for each threshold of 20, 30, 40, and 45 games finished.
