Bridgeview police recovered a large stash of energy drinks on Sunday. The Cook County Sheriff's Office confirmed the seizure of 11 pallets containing more than 23,000 cans of Red Bull. Authorities valued the recovered inventory at approximately $107,000. The cans were found inside a warehouse in the city.
The case began on Oct. 7 when a shipment was reported stolen from Joliet. That original load was valued at about $300,000. Investigators traced the missing goods to the Bridgeview location. They executed a search of the warehouse on Oct. 26. The recovery occurred nearly three weeks after the initial theft report.
The sheriff's office said the investigation into who took the shipment remains active. No suspects have been named or arrested in connection with the crime. Officials have not released details about how the cans moved from Joliet to the suburban warehouse. The department is continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the loss.
The recovered pallets represent a portion of the total stolen value. The remaining $193,000 worth of product has not been located. The sheriff's office provided the timeline and financial figures for the case. The recovered cans are stored pending the next steps in the legal process.
