Bill Hader voices the Cat in the Hat in a new animated feature that reimagines the 1957 Dr. Seuss classic. The film follows the character as he invades the home of a single mother and her two children, leading them into a separate world filled with energy and danger.

Dr. Seuss originally published the book in 1957, and it remains one of the best-selling children's books of all time. Mike Myers portrayed the character in a live-action movie released in 2003. This new adaptation uses the original story as its starting point before branching into new territory.

Director Alessandro Carloni stated that the filmmakers decided to use the book as the first three minutes of the movie. The team then focused on determining where the character would go next. Carloni explained that the story reveals engaging with bored children on rainy days is actually the Cat's job.

America Ferrera described the visual style as surprising. She noted that elements from the actual book were brought into the film while the animation changed depending on the world the characters were visiting. Ferrera called the result delightful.

Quinta Brunson joined the cast and said she was attracted to the project because it offered a different spin on the story. She expressed that being part of a new retelling of the Seuss world felt like a positive challenge.

Hader described the movie as genuinely incredibly funny, very moving, and honest. He said there is something for audiences to connect to. The film includes humor aimed at adults despite its inspiration from a children's book.

A Taylor Swift song performed by the USC marching band appears in the movie. Hader joked that the inclusion might lead to perks for him in the future. He said he would like a nice table by the window at a restaurant because he was in a movie where a Taylor Swift song was played by the USC marching band and he was a cat in a balloon.
